In between

In between packing boxes I managed to finish this little piece. Not sure what I am going to do with it from here - just hope I can find it after the move!

Just in case the recipient happens to read this post I covered the 'give away' part. :)

Pulled thread and fabric for a new project before I packed up all my stitching stuff. I have this project and one more that aren't packed away. I still have to clean off my sewing table and get that stuff boxed up but the rest of my sewing/stitching room is packed, I'm holding off on the computer as long as I can. I do have all but one drawer of the file cabinet packed. Not sure how much overlap there will be with utilities so I may end up without internet for a few days at the end of the month. Not that I have a whole lot of time to spend on it at the moment but I do need to get started with changing addresses before I loose access.

Well, just thought I would pop in and say hi while I had a minute - and that minute is up!

Upstairs

Game room - can't see the tv from here but it is directly across from the sofa. (I'm glad we will have movers to get that sofa downstairs!)

 Guest room # 1

 Guest room # 2

Guest bathroom

 My sewing room/office.

 Backyard

We added the patio the first year we were here. There was just a little pad barely big enough to hold a door mat. Hubby loves it back here.

We also added the little storage shed - just a few months ago (we had no idea we would be moving at that time) As you can see, we have a green space behind us so we have only had neighbors on the sides. We have some great neighbors - we are going to miss them!

That's the grand tour. After we move maybe I will find time to look for comparison photos - from when we moved here, while we were living here and these 'staged' shots. It looks much different than when we moved in. It was all builder beige - every square inch.

Now the fun part of bringing all the stuff back from storage so it can be sorted between what we will have room for at the apartment and what will have to go into storage until we find a house. So much fun.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Outta bubble wrap

Well, I was packing china but I ran out of bubble wrap, so I thought I would show you a few more pics.

Breakfast area - we use this room way more than the dining room - it usually only gets used Thanksgiving and Christmas.

This is kind of looking in from the garage door back towards the living area. That is the kitchen on the right so even though I don't have a window in the kitchen I can still see outside. I've enjoyed the open concept of this house. No idea what the next will be like.

The family room - we don't have a formal living room, it would seldom get used, kinda like that formal dining room.  :) The rocking chair was my grandmother's. I painted it white and had new cushions made for it. The old ones were wore out - lots of rocking has gone on in that chair.

This looks like it was taken from around hubby's chair (I wasn't really watching to see where he took the shots from) That would be my stitching chair on the right. The chest below the tv is one hubby built in high school.

Master bedroom looking in from the door

 and from the other corner.

Master bath.
This concludes the downstairs portion of the tour. Stay tuned for the upstairs!

Good morning!

Thought I would pop in and say hi.

Things here are running at a fast pace.

Thought I would show you some pics of the house from the listing.

 She is stripped pretty bare.

But I guess it worked - we got a contract in 3 days.

We've spent about 4 days (all of which were heavy rain days) looking for a new home but we haven't found anything that really spoke to us so we have rented an apartment. We need a place to live and the window to buy/close for a straight move has passed. We are supposed to close here on the 30th. We will move what we can to the apartment them the rest will be moved to a storage unit - maybe two. Not sure how long we will be in an apartment - just depends on what hits the marked in the near future. Much to get done but we are at a standstill point while waiting on appraisal and survey to be done so I've got a little breathing room to pop in here.
I have more pictures but I will save some for later posts. I should be able to make a couple this week while we are in a holding pattern. By next week we should be in full swing again.

We have had a lot of rain here. our rain gauge only holds 5 inches and it has over flowed two weekends in a row. Thankfully it isn't raining at the moment though there is the possibility later in the day. Lots of flooding around the Houston area but we have (thankfully) been spared the flooding.
