A little sewing

Just a short post to let you know I'm still around. I'm still stitching on my French Alphabet Sampler - I need to take a progress picture. I will try to do that soon - maybe for my next post. It really is looking good.

Awhile back I made some project bags using Vonna's (The Twisted Stitcher) tutorial. I made 5 and kept two for myself (I had already given one away before I took the picture).  The front one has buttons on it because I wasn't paying close enough attention to what I was doing and I put the magnetic snaps on the wrong side. Since you have to make a hole in the fabric to insert the snaps I had to cover the holes so I added some buttons. Measure twice, cut once! I forgot to take pictures of the fabric I used on the inside.  I'll be making some more somewhere down the line but I can't get to my sewing machine at the moment. I need to clean my sewing room and put some stuff away.

Have you visited The Twisted Stitcher? If you haven't, I highly suggest you click on the link and give her a look-see. She has a wealth of good information on her blog. Lots of great tutorials. She also has a you tube channel - I dare you to watch one and not get hooked! She will have you wanting to 'stitch all the stuff'.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Happy Easter

I don't have a lot of Easter decor but I thought I would show you what little I have before it's time to put it away.

A little monthly cross stitch and some bunnies. (see the green one in the flowers?

 Jars of eggs

I tucked some eggs inside of the cabinet - I had them on a feather tree at the last house but I haven't found the perfect place for the feather tree here.

My chocolate egg tree - looks good enough to eat!

 Just a few little things

 sitting up on the mantle

Can you see the glitter on the little basket of eggs?

See, not much. I have a few other things that didn't get put out (because I don't know where they are) and I haven't taken pictures of the outside stuff. Not much there either - a couple of baskets full of eggs on the porch and a couple of Easter flags in the flower bed.

And I have to show you my little bunny needle minder. Terry sent her to me - isn't she just precious? I'm kinda into needle minders at the moment so I was excited to get this one! That is a little snippet of my French Alphabet Sampler. I've been working on it this week. I'll do an update on that soon.

Have you seen Floss Tube? I hadn't either until Terry told me about it. Apparently it has been around a couple of years - which may explain why stitching blogs have fallen off somewhat. They are fun to watch but I'll stick to blogging. I like to stay behind the camera, not in front of it. Check them out on You Tube. Just pick one and watch it - if you don't like that one, try another one! The first one I watched was The Twisted Stitcher. Not only will you get hooked, you will see all kinds of stuff that will make you want to shop!

A couple of quilts

I finished a couple of quilts last month. I used the same pattern but different fabrics.
They have both been delivered to their new homes so I thought I would show them to you. I failed to take a picture of the back of them. The top one has the same fabric on the back as the binding. The bottom one has a black and white print on the back.

It's a super simple pattern (if you want to know the name of it, email me and I will dig it out - it's already buried in the closet somewhere)

The pattern calls for circles to be machine appliqued to the top and bottom but I wanted them to be a little more feminine so I made yo-yos and hand appliqued them on. There are 18 on each quilt. I love yo-yos but I think it will be awhile before I make any more!

On to the next project!
