The Bag Lady

So, I made a few project bags.

I didn't really intend to make so many, but I was on a roll and I had cute fabric!

I watched several you-tube videos and took bits and pieces of each one,
along with some trial and error, to come up with what worked for me.

That pink one came out a little larger than I intended but it's still cute!

I used some scraps to make some smaller bags to hold gadgets - love my gadgets!

Do I need this many project bags? Not really. Could I fill this many? Definitely.
I've already gifted a couple of them and I have a couple set aside for future gifts.

I will probably make some more later, but for now I've cleaned up my mess. I need to look for some more fabric. My sewing room is small and I have to set up folding tables to have space to cut and iron. I worked on these for about 2 weeks and I got tired of the mess.

How are you passing the time during these difficult days? Have your daily activities been affected? I'm staying home for the most part. Getting a little stitching done. Since the gym is closed, I've been walking around the neighborhood. It is normally a pretty quiet neighborhood but it seems even more so these days.

I pass a few other walkers and sometimes see people doing yard work. I can tell others have been working in their yards (or they have someone doing it for them) because yards are freshly mowed and flowerbeds have been cleaned up. (neither of these things have been done here yet) It's been quite warm here this week - I've already had to turn on the a/c.

I hope you are all well and staying safe.

A Little Stitching

I hope you are all safe and well.
We are fine here. Talked to all the kiddos last night and they are all fine as well.

It's raining here and supposed to rain all weekend. I guess we will look for movies to watch.

I've got a few stitched pieces. None of the are fully finished yet - I think I know what I want to do with them but I don't have backing fabric for any of them yet. I'm not in a hurry for them so it's all good.

Be Merry from the Christmas Collection by Hands On Design
There are two more ornaments in the chart pack. I will eventually get them stitched. I'm using 32ct Charcoal Belfast and the called for colors.

Another Hands On Design piece - Harvest Chalk Full. Still have the small to stitch from this one. Again, need backing fabric. I want to do some more in this series but I don't know if I will do them all on black. We will see.

Secret Egg Hunt by The Trilogy. This one is an oldie (2005, I think) It came with the fabric and buttons. It was quite a feat to get the creases out of that fabric that had been folded for 15 years! I used the DMC floss colors. Sorry about the wonky angle of the photo - I was trying to get it without a shadow.

Just hanging out here stitching.

How are you passing the time?

Happy St. Patrick's Day

It's a gray, dreary day here.
I think we are supposed to have rain later.

I went out for a walk around the neighborhood this morning, it was nice and cool. Other than that, I've been 'social distancing'.

Our annual stitching get-away weekend was supposed to be this coming weekend.

It has been rescheduled for August.
I'm disappointed but it is what it is.

I've done a little stitching.

I finished the stitching on three pieces - pictures next time.
They aren't fully finished and may not be by the next post, but I'll show the stitching part anyway.

I pulled a few charts to kit up and a WIP that is long overdue for some attention.

I'm just fine here for now.
It's a bit scary out there right now.
I'm trying to balance staying informed and not getting totally immersed in the 'news'.

Stay safe and be well.

Mom's birthday

Tomorrow is Mother's first birthday in heaven.
Her first pain-free birthday in years.
I've been sitting her trying to figure out just what I want to say and I really don't have the words.
Miss you every single day.
Happy birthday.
I hope you have all the chocolate covered grapes and strawberries you can eat.
