I knew there had to be one

So far all the iris blooms I've had have been orange. Lovely, but I knew there were some purple ones in there somewhere. Earlier this week I spotted this guy just ready to pop out.

And here is what it looked like yesterday.

Isn't it pretty? If you look really, really close you can see another little purple baby just about ready to open.

Thank you so much for the comments and emails about my front porch. It took a really long time to get it and I am very proud of it. I know I have a couple of pictures of this house when we bought it (1985) I'm going to try to find them and post them soon. It really doesn't even look like the same house.

I'm still trying to catch up on blog reading. I've been behind since the first weekend we went out of town. I finally got my post feeds down to less than 100. Okay, it is at 99 but we aren't splitting hairs here. I haven't commented on many because I am trying to get through all of them today so I can be fresh for tomorrow!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I'm hoping our weather stays like it is now - so far it has been a perfect day. Sun is out, windows are open. Perfect.

Love iris. That is a gorgeous color. Almost all of my are either purple or white. Mine are just barely out of the ground. The weatherman says we might have snow showers tonight into tomorrow morning. Yuck!!!

I'm with you. It sure is hard to keep ahead on the blog reading and commenting. One missed day and you are buried. A weekend or two and you are drowning.

At noon today the wind chill index was 33.

Thanks for a bit of spring here! I love the evolving changes to your great grandmother's doily. What works of art those doilies are.

Beautiful iris - wish I had a green thumb like you do. I also loved your front porch - forgot to mention that earlier. Hope you have a great weekend.

What a lovely color, Mine are blooming this year too, I wasn't actually sure that I had any, but now I know. I didn't plant them and for years there have just been spikey leaves, now I've got blooms, and these spikey plants are growing on me.

I can't wait for our Iris to bloom. We still just have a little of their green leaves showing. Yours are beautiful!

Have a great Sunday night,
