Table linens

Thought I would show some table linens I found in a box of stuff when we were cleaning out MIL's house back in Feb. (the sisters-in-law left it there and told me to go through it and see if I wanted anything)

The pink and green ones are in excellent shape

This tatting is on the edge of a large tablecloth - unfortunately it is missing in some places and not in good shape in others. I kept it though, thinking that I could take the tatting off and use it elsewhere and then either use the cloth w/o or put some new kind of edging on it. (I don't tat so it will have to be some kind of pre-made something!)

Love these faded cloths. They are both in good shape as far as holes but both are stained from use - you should have seen them before they had a bath!

This one has a lot of small holes in it but I love the embroidery

This one has blue embroidery and has napkins to match.
Not sure what I will do with any of them - I guess I will figure that out when I figure out where I'm going to be living!
We have had some great weather the last few days - I have had the windows open most of the time. They promise the humidity will return tomorrow along with the heat. Oh joy. It has been nice while it lasted!

Oh, I love handwork; I can't throw any out, no matter how tattered. You can always use it and layer smaller pieces over the damaged area to display it. I have one of those old wooden folding drying racks, that makes a good place to display the work without actually using it and risking further damage.

What great finds! Wow, you're going to be able to do so much with those linens. They are all lovely!

Great pics of the kiddos, too. And I LOVE your front porch. What a perfect stitching area! :)

That blue and white is just beautiful! They are beautiful, but for some reason there is a special place in my heart for blue and white.

What lovely items, and how special knowing that they belonged to your MIL. Hope you find a project to use them in.

Hugs :)
