Taking a break

I have decided to take a little blogging break. There are a lot of things going on right now, some good, some not, but all stressful. Stress does not play well with my migraines. I'm going to take at least two weeks, maybe the whole month of August. We will see how things are going at the end of the two weeks. (if you go by the last few months, we really aren't talking about very many posts, are we?)

I will check my email as often as I can and I will try to get around to visit as many of you as I can - I may or may not leave comments depending on how much time I have.

I thought I would leave you with a picture of this house

Can a house be sad? I think this one is. I have passed it every time I drive to and from my house for the past 24 years. (At one time there were two similar - but not quite as interesting - across the street but they both burned long ago) It usually has someone (renters, I think) living in it but the best I can tell the only maintenance that has been done over 24 years are a few porch board that were replaced and part of the roof.
It is dark around the door area (you might be able to click and see better - dunno) but there is stained glass in the door. (which I'm pretty sure is original) It would take a small fortune to restore it but can't you just see it all spit shined? Makes a person just want to cry. Every time we are out of town I always wonder if it will still be standing when we return - so far, it is still there.
Hope you all have a wonderful few weeks.
Don't forget about me!

That poor house is just SCREAMING for some tender, loving care. It does look sad. Sad and neglected and in dire need of restoration. :(

And speaking of restoration, I hope you're able to restore your spirits soon. You sound sort of down and even a bit melancholy. I hope whatever it is that is weighing on you gets settled soon. I'll look forward to your return - and feel free to "talk" to me if you need a neutral person to talk to. Sometimes it helps to have a sounding board that has no stake in the issue, eh? In the meantime, take care of yourself!

Your stitching weekend looked like such fun....I have the same LHN stitch (love it) in my to do basket. I know what you mean about talking and stitching...

I love old homes...this one must have been wonderful in it's heyday...I wonder what it's story is, if only walls could talk. Have a good bloggy vacation...see you on your return....hugs, Linda

I HATE that the old house looks so forlorn. It's a beautiful old home in need of some TLC. It even looks sad...

Cute cabin ya'll stayed in to (ahem), stitch (snicker behind hand). I'm sure ya'll had fun!

Here's hopin' you feel better after your break! We all need a break sometimes.

We will miss you..but there should be no pressure associated with a blog..so taking a break and not thinking about it can be good. Thanks for telling about the old house. I hope someone decides to fix it up. *hugs to you* Terry in Arlington

It is sad to see such a gorgeous house look so ignored. It would fabulous if someone would fix it up. I guess someone would have to win the lottery to do this.

Hugs :)

Where you gonna put your "tat"?

Me & my friends got henna tats when we went to Florida on vacation. Our daughters did, too. It was fun at the time, but come Sunday, I had Comet trying to scrub it off. It took about 6-8 weeks for them to wear away. I had a really pretty flower on my ankle and could NOT cover it up! haha!

Enjoy your time off! I see POTENTIAL when I look at that house; how grand it could be with lots of money, elbow grease, and tender loving care!

Well sweetie, I'm sorry you are kinda' down. Guess we all get there sometimes. Bet it gets better soon.

I love the house. Oh, how I would love the money, time and health to purchase and restore it.

The house also makes me think of the book and movie, FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC.

Feel better soon

Oh that house makes me cry :( It looks like it is crying out for someone to love it. I have always had such a soft place in my heart for beautiful abandoned homes like this! In fact, I featured one on my blog a couple weeks ago that hubby and I saw while on vacation. I wish I could rescue them all!!
Hugs,
Amy
