Took a little trip

Mr. Wonderful had a business meeting in Pasadena (Houston area) on Tuesday so I went along for the ride. (since I'm not working right now, why not?) I don't have a bunch of cute pics of quaint little towns with cute little cottages like Rue would have from one of her little trips because, well, there just isn't anything to take pictures of between here and there. (there might be if you got off the beaten path, but we were on a schedule) We left early Tuesday morning, then came back through Nac to see the kids on the way home. (some cute houses in Nac, but it was already dark by the time we got there)
I packed up some stitching to take to work on while hubby was in his meeting. I pulled out my kitted up Home of a Needleworker (scroll down - I'm doing the first one, I haven't kitted up Home of a Needleworker Too yet) anyway - I kitted this up several years ago. I changed all the colors because I wanted it to match my little yellow and white house and I had put 29ct Glenshee linen in the kit - and the fabric was cut to stitch it over one. Here's the thing - when I kitted it up, I could still see to stitch over one w/o glasses. Now, I not only need the glasses, but it works much, much better if I also have the magnifier! I thought to put the clip on light in the tote bag but not the magnifier so my stitching progress was SLOW to say the least. (not to mention it was cold in there! I kept moving to try to get out of the line of the vent, but I was trying to stay in front of the window for the light too!) Anyway - here is what little I got stitched while I was waiting on dh. Stitching over one in the car w/o a magnifier was out of the question - I tried, but no way - not happening!

I put the quarter there so you could see just how small it is!
Okay - off to the post office. It is amazing how far behind one can get in just 2 days!

Yes, things tend to get farther and farther away. And the light just isn't what it use to be, is it? I know I feel that way!

It's nice to have little getaways..

Stitching over 1 is more difficult for me too - darn 45-year-old eyes of mine :)

Keep us posted on your progress :)

Hi Tina - how are you and your family? Hope things are well with you all - looks like you've been busy in 2008. I went back and looked at your projects on the house, and you DID get alot done. Wish I could say the same! We need to do Canton again one day with Margo - maybe in the spring when it's a little warmer - take care! Vickie

WOW!! That is soooo tiny! My eyes would never cooperate.

I miss Nac since my son isn't attending SFA anymore. It's such a neat little town. I have to admit there is NOTHING to look at in Pasadena. I'm only 45 minutes from there. I could have come up and visited with you. Maybe next time? :)

Lucky you! I adore road trips, especially if someone else is driving and I can sit and relax.
