The weather in east Texas has finally caught up with the calendar! We love soup when the weather turns cool and last night we had our first pot 'o soup. The best part is how easy it is! Doesn't have a name - we just call it soup!
Brown 1 Lb ground beef with 1/2 onion (chopped)
1 large can Veg-all
2 cans Spanish rice
1 can Ranch Style beans
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 can Ro-tel tomatoes
dump it all in a crock pot (liquid and all - do not drain veggies)
I put mine in at lunch and cooked on low - my crock pot cooks a bit on the hot side - you can see it was bubbling when I got home.
add a pan of cornbread and dinner is ready!
yumm.

mmmmmmm...that soup sounds so cozy. I just saw the greatest iron pans at wal-mart for cornbread that were divided into pie like compartments and one that was divided into bar like compartments, perfect for this kind of meal.
Oh that sounds so good! Nothing better than cornbread on the side either :)
Hugs,
Dena
Yum! Looks delicious :)
Hello from fellow Texan. I came across your blogg on http://blog.theflossbox.com/?page_id=296 and saw that you also were in Texas. I also enjoy cross stitching, serial starter, have a ton of WIP's and UFO's. Along with my obsession with cross stitching I also have a daschound that is about 8 months or so and is my wild child. She loves to go out and dig in the dirt. She doesnt run, she hops like a rabbit. Besides I have 3 others that are bigger than her and she is not one bit scared of them or the cats that she loves to harass.
Here is my Multiply site that has some pictures of pics of her when she was little http://missicat.multiply.com/
OH btw, I live in Magnolia near Houston but I have family from the East Texas area (Crocket and Grapeland area)

Mmmmm mmmmm good! That soup looks delicious! I'm definitely going to make that! Anything with corn bread has to be good! I think corn bread should be one of the four food groups :)
Thanks for sharing.
