Little birdies

Good afternoon! It's sunny and hot here in Texas.

I've had this pot of mums for years - the only time I've had any to last but these keep blooming all year round. Last week hubby was out watering them and a bird flew out -

that's when we found this. I couldn't get a picture of the eggs, but we would go out and check on them every day. Once they start chirping, Autumn would have been all over them so I moved a flowerpot thingie in front of the chair where the mums are. That with the fact that she is slowly loosing her hearing (she's 15) I don't think she ever knew they were there.

The other day I was greeted with open mouths - guess they mistook me for their mama. I took a couple of pictures and left so the mama could come back

Day before yesterday they were quite adamant about wanting food!
I didn't get to go out and check on them yesterday and when I went out this morning they were gone. I guess they left the nest yesterday but at least Autumn didn't get any of them this time!

Hope you are having a great week!

I love that. Last year, and this year, we watched a dove have two sets of babies just outside our breakfast room window in a hanging basket. It was so neat!

Tina, thanks for providing a place for the birds within your potted plant. I am always amazed by where birds build their nests.

Awww.. so cute! I haven't seen any babies yet. My birds must be better at hiding :)

Awww, I love baby birds. I have too many cats now to have baby birds around though.
