I thought I was done. . .

I found the missing yellow buttons for the May monthly and got those sewn on. Finished the December stamp and got the buttons sewn on. I thought I was caught up with the monthly series I had started (I still have some waiting to be started)

Nope. I went to put the December chart with the rest of the charts and found the January one with the buttons still on it - oops. Looked in the bag and sure 'nuff, there was another piece of fabric in there.

In other news - I have flowers blooming! This one is in the front flower bed.

This one is in the back yard - haven't decided if I want to plant it or find a pretty pot for it.

And these things have gone wild. The only thing I have done with them is to stake up the ones that are laying over. I have no idea what to do with them.

I'm out of battery power so I guess that's it for today.

Happy Independence Day!

My rooster is all ready for the day

I finished my July monthly (Lizzie Kate). I just love this little frame. I have all the months stitched and all except for May are fully finished. I missed the mark with May and I have misplaced the buttons but I will have it ready for display before May rolls around again.

I stitched these last year - I'll have to do some looking for designers on these (I'm not good at keeping up with notes)

 Plopped a little sign on the fireplace - the crosses are year-round.

I stitched this one 10+ years ago (pretty sure it was before our 2009 move) so if you know the designer hit me up and I'll post it. I'm sure I have the  chart - where?

Another 'first'

Daddy and Mother

July 1, 1961

It has been eleven weeks since mom passed away. 

Some days are harder than others.

Today was another 'first' without her - their wedding anniversary.  58 years.

We took dad to breakfast, then we took her roses. 

Mother loved flowers. When she could no longer get out to see them, Daddy would take pictures of whatever was blooming so she could see them.  Between Dad, kids and grandkids, we make sure she always has flowers.

Miss you, Mom.

A Little Behind

Since I missed showing my Easter decor, I thought I would share a just a couple of photos. My rooster dolled up for Easter.

I did get May stitched but I didn't get the buttons on and now I've misplaced them. I have a few bee treasures (Mill Hill) that I can use if I don't find the buttons (or some I can use, before 2020). Not gonna worry about it until then. I have July stitched - just need to get it mounted sometime this week. Since I started with August, this finishes up that series! 

                                        
There are no stitchy stores in NYC (that I know of) but I picked up this little pin at the Empire State Building and made it into a needle minder. Another Lizzie Kate monthly - last one in that series! (except the bonus chart) Took it to NY with me but didn't get many stitches in.

I have another finish (need to get it framed) and some happy mail to share next time.

It's hot and humid here in Texas. It feels like walking into an oven when you walk outside but I've been trying to get a little weeding done in the mornings - need to get it done and put out some new mulch. I'm a little behind but it will get done.

NYC - Our last day

So we ducked in and out of stores while walking

After a little break to dry out we walked from our hotel to a BBQ place

For our last meal with baby boy. 

You can get good BBQ in NYC!

After dinner, we met up with Austin and spent a couple of hours chatting. We actually closed down the bar!

We saw a lot but there was so much more to see! Jimmy is already wanting to plan the next trip! Thanks to Austin for stepping in as tour guide when Jason was working.

Happy Father's Day

I still have one cold, rainy day in NYC to share but thought I would slip in a post to say Happy Father's Day to my dad, my kiddo's dad and my brother.
