A Little August

Two words to describe August in Texas - Hot and Humid! I just keep repeating to myself  'we don't have to shovel snow, we don't have to shovel snow'. Doesn't make me sweat any less but there ya go.
I've managed to get in a little stitching time lately. Thought I should show you before August passes us by. Sorry about the dark picture.

I've had this frame for quite some time. Wasn't really sure what I was going to do with it so it's been in the closet until I came across this monthly set from Lizzie Kate. I have another set of LK monthlys that I change out every month but thanks to Priscilla's (if you haven't met her, go check out her blog - she has awesome finishing ideas!) brilliant idea of using magnets, I don't have to take this one apart every month! I covered a piece of tin with painters drop cloth and put that in the frame then put magnets on the back of the mounted stitched piece. (I think she sometimes, maybe always?, puts the magnet on the frame or whatever she wants it to stick to and then puts a washer on the stitched piece - probably a cheaper option) Anyway - cute as is but thought it could use a little something more so I added some mini pom-pom fringe.

I love pom-pom fringe! I think it was just the thing it needed! I have the one for September stitched and mounted but still need to add the pom-poms. Will soon have to think about getting October stitched.

That's about it from here at the moment. We have started painting the living room but have only finished two walls. Will hit #3 this weekend but it involves moving furniture so don't know if we will get to #4 or not. Not a lot of wiggle room for moving furniture around.

Much as I hate to get out in this heat and humidity, I've got errands to run today.

Hope you have a great weekend. I'll try not to melt in this Texas heat!

Tina, I love that frame and your LK Monthly looks super in it. I think I would rather shovel snow. Enjoy your weekend!

Those LK designs are perfect for that frame! I adore pompom trim too!

Winter is coming. Winter is coming. Attune the Stark motto and feel a bit cooler.
