Well, I have neglected this little blog. Did I say I would have stitching to show next time? Yes. Do I? No, I do not. I do have a couple of finishes from last month but I haven't even taken pictures of them and I definitely have not fully finished them. I have only taken a few stitches since Thanksgiving.
There has been a lot of water under the bridge since I was last here. There were out of town trips, visitors, surgeries, physical therapy, home improvement projects started but not yet finished. (We should not start projects in the middle of holiday decorating) It has been a bit busy. I have not even taken my usual tree tour photos this year.
Right slap in the middle of everything going on, on December 15, my brother-in-law passed away. Totally unexpected. My sister and nieces are taking it one step at a time.
I swiped this photo from my sister's Facebook page. It's from a couple of years ago.
There is never a good time for something like this, but it seems to be magnified when it happens at Christmas.
And because that isn't enough, dear daughter-in-law tested positive for Covid on Wednesday. They were supposed to come for Christmas after missing last year (when hubby had Covid) - then on Christmas night she ended up in the ER with a collapsed lung. (Most likely not caused by Covid but exasperated by it) She is supposed to have a procedure to reinflate the lung this morning but we do not know what time.
It's been a lot.
I will get photos before the decorations are put away (I did take a few Christmas Eve but they are not on this computer yet) and pictures of the stitchy finishes - maybe I will even get them fully finished.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
I would say that we are looking forward to the new year but it seems like when I say that it is taken as a challenge and the last three years have been challenging enough.
Until next time...

Thinking of you and your family during this time. I hope the procedure to inflate her lung goes smoothly.
So sorry for your loss! Hugs!
