One wild ride

I definitely was not singing in the rain!

We had to go home (although at the moment, I'm not sure exactly where 'home' is) Tuesday evening as hubby had an early meeting in Tyler on Wednesday. He had to be back in Pasadena Thursday morning, so that meant we had to drive back Wednesday night. Yes, through all those storms you saw on the weather radar Wednesday night. It was a real nail-biter. We kept thinking we would eventually drive out of it, but we seemed to be moving at the same pace (slow!) and in the same direction so we were pretty much in blinding rain the whole way. After we got in and watched the news we heard there were 70mph wind gusts, and I believe it!

Anyway - it had started to rain by the time we got home Tuesday night so I didn't get to take any pictures of my plants until Wednesday morning - after they had been beaten down by the rain. :( I'm sure after the rain on Wednesday night they look even worse for the wear.

Still lots of iris buds waiting to bloom out.

I'm sure these were really pretty Tuesday afternoon

The dogwood tree is almost completely bloomed out

I even have quite a few leaves coming out on the hydrangea!

I know this was much prettier Tuesday afternoon - I hate that I missed it. (it is what I see out my kitchen window when doing dishes.)
I've finally managed to get my reader count to (just) below 200, but I'm afraid I will be way behind again by Monday. I'm going to a stitch retreat this weekend so I will be away from the computer for the next few days. I promise I will get caught up one of these days!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

My flowers look bedraggled. It rains, stops, then starts again. I think we're possibly in for more, said the aquarium kid crew that just left.

That wisteria is just beautiful! It's one of my fav vines, even though it only blooms once a year. That weather was horrible, wasn't it? We even got hail, so you KNOW what that did to my little plants!

How nice to live somewhere with such beautiful flowers in March!! All I have in bloom is a bit of siberian squill and a few crocuses.

Hi Tina :)

Happy Anniversary to you and your husband!

Your flowers look beautiful drenched or not. Here in Ohio, there is nary a bud yet.

Thank you for the sweet words... I'll be posting again in a couple of days.

Have fun at your stitch retreat!
hugs,
rue

Hi, Tina - glad you stopped by. Looks like you've been a busy girl. I have been, too. Not much time for blogging.

I hate that you're leaving your little yellow house. It's so cute and you love it so much. I know you'll find something great in Houston tho.

We just celebrated our 30th anniversary in July. Congrats to you two, too! It seems like yesterday, and seems like a 100 years ago all at the same time !

Flowers look awesome. It has been to chilly here for much in the way of flowers. We are behind you several weeks.

Nice to see someone is getting somewhat caught up on blogs. I am close to being under 200 too. Keep reading when you can.
