RoadTrip Day 5 part 2

We left Denver and headed west

The scenery was beautiful.
Sometimes there was a place to pull off and get pictures,

Sometimes we took them out the car windows.

We were looking for water.

But not just any water.

We were looking for specific water.

We have reached the town we were looking for - three cameras and not a single picture of the sign. :(

Leadville, Colorado

The country's highest incorporated city @ 10,151 or 10,152, depending where you get your information.

This is the water we were looking for.

Headwaters of the Arkansas River

Daddy was born and grew up at the mouth of the Arkansas, so he wanted to see the other end.

As we headed back towards Pueblo for the night

we crossed the Arkansas

many times!

Sometimes it was a little water

Sometimes it was a lot

There was even one spot where it was dry - and there were four-wheelers riding where the water should have been. We failed to get a picture at that spot.

Eventually we ran out of daylight, but this is not the last we will see of the river!

Stay tuned for more!
