I need 19 more! We made one square in class last night and I have two weeks to get the other 19 made. (we don't have a class next week) I do have Bertha out of her traveling case and set up, but haven't had time to sew any yet today. Not a good headache day, plus errands - which included the pharmacy - and now I'm trying to get this post in while cooking dinner.
Once I get all the squares made, I have to decide which way I want them to go. What do you think? Red squares on each side,
or top and bottom? I may have to get a few more made and lay them out to decide. (it really is square - the picture makes it look like it isn't, but I've put a ruler to it - several times!)

Tina, your block looks great! I'm with you, make a few more then lay them out to get a better idea of the look you want.
I think the little yellow house is a perfect ornie for you to stitch. There are so many neat ones...I haven't decided which one to do...but I think Let It Snow by CCN or maybe the BB Design. Have a good weekend...hugs, Linda

Beautiful square! I think the red top and bottom looks best, but I agree that it's probably worth making more blocks first before you decide.
I am a quilter too. I like the squares on the side..more balanced as someone said.Red on top- it looks a little taller and less square. But..when all put together..it may not make any difference. If it is for a wall..it might..but if a throw..it will not be lying in any direction anyway. Nice work! Terry in Arlington

I notice you did quite a good job matching up those corners. I always had a problem with that. After tearing out far too many seams at the corners and redoing, here's what I came up with. It is a little time-consuming, but worth it to me. I always matched the corners, then hand-stitched them together a few stitches just at the corners where they met with a few stitches to hold them in place. Then I could sew along without thinking about it!

Your block looks great. Seems like you did a great job. The corners come out perfect. I like the red on the sides, for whatever that is worth.

Very good on the quilting. That is something I know a little bit about. If your squares aren't exactly the same size, it can be dealt with. Don't get so picky that you don't have fun. Love the 4 patch, looks like you do good work. don't you just love rotary cutting, and strip quilting.
