My great-grandmother made this hat and scarf for me - I'm guessing around 5th grade.
The sweaters and hat were hubby's.
I did get the borders on my quilt top. I got the top and bottom in class and finished it up yesterday. I'll show those pics in the next post - I'll try not to take so long between posts this time.
Houston Quilt Festival is this week! The girlfriends and I will be heading that way Thursday morning - I can't wait!

Isn't it lovely to have handknits made for you to cherish?
I thought my mother - who is unsentimental and not really a hoarder - had got rid of much of my childhood. Until recently, when strangely, some of my dolls - and the clothes she'd knitted for them - appeared from the attic for my niece to play with. So ma did expect grandchildren after all ;o)
What beautiful treasures. So nice to find such great things tucked away.
Won't lose me. Have you on Google Reader and you automatically pop up. Wondered what you were doing. Kept going back to your blog and seeing the quilt. Isn't it nice to get the attic cleaned AND have almost new (really more forgotten) treasures to boot?
